As far as eyewear goodies seen on the Milan Fashion Week catwalk, Emilio Pucci went big, Emporio Armani bet on blue while Gucci chose the hippest frames. Following our New York and London fashion weeks’ eyewear picks, here are our top frame choices from Milan, probably the edition with the widest variety of spectacles.

READY TO WEAR SPRING SUMMER 2015 MILAN

Our vote for #objectofdesire: GIAMBA

Giamba
Giambattista Valli
is like the dessert on the fashion menu. He brings a sort of sweetness to the runway whether it’s elegant and airy like a Pavlova or rich and minimal like a truffle. And he made no exceptions with Giamba, his  first contemporary collection. The array is impressive. Lace, fur, ruffles, denim, fluid like sheer or stiff, rigid textures, everything flavoured with the same mellifluous finesse. Only a luxurious mind like Giamba can mix a heavy dose of playfulness to his designs, managing to stay true to his refined par excelence core. We truly loved how he topped his eye candy outfits with round rim sunnies adding a bit of spoiled like eccentricity.

Our vote for #standingout: MOSCHINO

Moschino

Heart shaped, cat eyed with glittered corners, brightly coloured eyewear to go with a Barbie inspired collection? If we keep the sweet tooth theme, we’ll say everybody needs a jawbreaker delight from time to time. And oh boy, did Jeremy Scott made us go all the way with his sugar overdose collection. With plastic is fantastic accessories, metallic, terrycloth and synthetic fabrics, they all seemed dyed with artificial food colours. Note to self(ies): don’t forget to have at hand a pair of sunglasses with a sugar high like design, it can sometimes make your day.

Our vote for #bestaccessorized:: GIORGIO ARMANI

Giorgio Armani

We did like how Fendi put a meow sunglass to his feather mini dress, suede cut out dress or leather baby doll. But we nodded yes when Giorgio Armani completed the clean cut monochromatic looks with oversized, no rim cat eyes. It’s as if he balanced big serious accessories with minimalistic elegance to reach the perfect equilibrium of good taste. No add or take there or else the “I want this now” gazes from the audience would have disappeared. The square Max Mara spectacles looked great with the hats, though we sighed dreamily at casual deux piece outfits in sandy or watery neutrals accessorized with tone on tone shades. While we were absolutely taken with the imposing oversized round frames with lower discoloured lenses from Cavalli catwalk, we felt right, at ease and at peace with the simplicity and unpretentiousness design from Armani round sunglasses combined with draped fluid sheer fabrics or beige fringes from an urban everyday ensemble.
